Recent Intern Leila Shawrieh Selected for Global Ties U.S. 2025 Emerging Leaders Cohort

Global Ties San Francisco is thrilled to announce that our summer 2024 intern Leila Shawrieh has been selected for the 2025 cohort of the Global Ties U.S. Emerging Leaders Program due to her outstanding potential to lead and shape the future of public diplomacy and international exchange!

The year-long Emerging Leaders Program prepares diverse young professionals from across the United States for careers in international affairs and public diplomacy through targeted professional development and key networking opportunities. Program participants not only participate in advocacy work with Congress, but also plan and implement a service project in their own communities aimed at engaging more young people in international affairs.

Global Ties San Francisco interns have been selected for seven cohorts since the 2011 program launch: 2015 (Otto Kienitz), 2016 (Joy Young), 2017 (Yevin Cho), 2018 (Suzanne Tsai), 2019 (Alannah Crandall), 2022 (William Yates), and 2025 (Leila Shawrieh).

Congratulations, Leila!
